Site Evaluation Committee Joint Public Hearing- Meredith 3/1/16:
A subcommittee of The NH Site Evaluation Committee held a joint public hearing on Northern Pass for Belknap County at Mill Falls at the Lake, Church Landing on March 1, 2016. This is the first of several hearing to be held, one in each county where the line is proposed to run through.

Pam Vose
Pam Vose of New Hampton read a statement on behalf of the New Hampton Board of Selectmen opposing Northern Pass.

Paul Housmann
Paul Housmann spoke in favor of Northern Pass.

Ralph Kirshner
Ralph Kirshner of New Hampton is a former member of the New Hampton Conservation Commission of 10 years. He opposes Northern Pass and says the whole environmental impact needs to be looked at at both ends.

Michael Stanek
Michael Stanek spoke in favor of Northern Pass.

Marc Brown
Marc Brown is Executive Director of the New England Ratepayers Association spoke in favor of Northern Pass.

Ken Kimball
Ken Kimball of the Appalachian Mountain Club which opposes Northern Pass noted there are other projects in New England which propose longer underground routes than claimed by NP.

Tiler Eaton
Tiler Eaton of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers spoke in support of the ptoject.

Manfred Hoertdoerfer
Manfred Hoertdoerfer is a retired engineer and opposes the towers and says most jobs would go to out of state workers.

Suzanne Steele
Suzanne Steele of Deerfield opposes Northern Pass because of its impact on scenic views and tourism.

Brandon Finn
Brandon Finn of Manchester recently moved to NH and trusts the SEC will make the correct decision.

Donna Keeley
Donna Keeley of Pittsfield is an Eversource employee and supports Northern Pass.

Susan Seitz
Susan Seitz from Deerfield began by expressing concern about an "incomplete application by a company who is under investigation by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This scares me."

Jane Difely
Jane Difley of the Society for the Protection of NH Forests opposes Northern Pass aying the public interest is served by protecting landscapes, not needlessly scarring them.

Ryan Barber
Ryan Barber of Rumney supports Northern Pass and is a member of the IBEW.

Eileen Schulze
Eileen Schulze of Northfield opposes Northern Pass citing security risk of above ground lines.

Greg Averill
Greg Averill of Canterbury opposes Northern Pass. Shortest statement of the night.

Jeanie Forrester
Sen. Jeanie Forrest of Meredith opposes Northern Pass and tells the Site Evaluation Committee at its public hearing tonight in Meredith that after five years of this fight, she is disappointed in PSNH/Eversource and they are tone deaf. Says we should not be a doormat.

Jason Lauze
Jason Lauze is the Training Director for the IBEW's apprecentice program and supports Northern Pass.

Ken Kimball
Ken Kimball of the Appalachian Mountain Club was given a chance to finish his thoughts. He mentioned more jobs would be created by burial and also noted how Northern Pass tried to get consolidation of opponent interveners but not supporters.

Manfred Hoertdoerfer
Manfred Hoertdoerfer got to finish his comments and reveals that if NP gets rejected by DOT, it's alternative is to go back to the original route of overhead lines through the WMNF.
